The Big Nike High first released way back in 1985 as a high-performance basketball shoe, which was tailored to the needs of the average ball player.

However, it was made famous by the towering 7′7” Center of the Houston Bullets, Manute Bol, who most certainly earned a title far beyond the simple words “average player”.

Nike is now planning to re-release the Big Nike High this year in a nice selection of colorways (Spring / Summer 2009). This particular style features a simple white leather upper with a heel covered in cement print and indented with the word “NIKE” on the back heel.
