Nike “American Native” Dunk High Customs

American Eagles, and their feathers, are viewed as sacred symbols within many indigenous Native American communities. They are honored with great care and shown the deepest respect. They represent honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom. They’re also believed to have a special connection to God.

In honor of the Native Americans and their strong bond with the Eagles, Mateo Acrylics customized these Nike Dunks, which he calls, the “American-Native” Dunk High. The words “Native” & “Americans” are used in reverse order to reflect the sneaker’s unique design, instead of using earth tones, the American colors of red, white, and blue are used throughout shoe.

The sneaker features a black/red/blue glossy finish with detailed eagle feathers etched on the side panels and some elegant graphics. Mateo also used the wings of the Adidas x Jeremy Scott “JS Wings” to replicate eagle wings and decorated them in a faded airbrush pattern.
