K1X, a basketball lifestyle brand, is preparing to drop their freshest collection ever. Their Summer 2009 Collection was inspired by the NBA basketball legend World B. Free, who’s charismatic persona and flashy game shaped the face of the league and basketball in general, during the 70’s and 80’s.

K1X’s “World B. Free” collection is a tribute to the man who’s style and look paved the way for guys like Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant, features 3 footwear models (Chiefglider Lo / Meet the Parents / DCAC) as well various, tees, shorts, hoodys, a crewneck sweats and a jacket.

• The K1X Chiefglider Lo sports a low-cut silhouette with a baby-blue/orange/white color scheme that ties back to Free’s San Diego Clipper team colors.  Other details include, a patent leather midsole, extra padding in the inner lining, and the infamous soup can graphic that was an adoption of Free’s in-game trash talking (he used to scream “hot soup” while scoring on defenders).

• The K1X Meet the Parents yields a chukka silhouette that’s covered in light grey tweed fabric and features a soft basketball-leather collar, plus 2 pairs of shoelaces (white and purple).

• The K1X DCAC is unusually light, but highly durable, due to it’s basketball-leather upper and sole, the latter of which features an integrated leather tag logo inlay for added stomp. The DCAC (World B Free Edition) is available in both purple and white.
