The new line contains a range of fresh new styles that fall in the category of the everyday sneaker, all the way up to sophisticated high-end models. Playboy, an American men’s magazine that was founded in Chicago by Hugh Hefner, recently went back to their roots, and had a photo shoot at one of Chicago’s best sneaker boutiques, Leader1354.
Playboy gathered 10 shoes that any sneakerhead would want in their collect this year, and then they modeled them on one of their favorite Playboy Playmates, Miss January 2001, Irina Voronina.
The sneakers used in the photo shoot included: the “Big Gulp” Nike SB Dunk Hi, Alife Everybody High, Leaders1354 x Reebok Reverse Jam, Puma Clyde, “Magenta” Supra Skytop , The Hundreds “Johnson”, Adidas Concord Hi Snake, “Timbo” Supra Skytop, “Spiderman” Nike SB Dunk Mid, and the “Blue/Sliver” Supra Vaider Tuf.

Fruit Salad is a fresh and new lifestyle brand in tune and innovating the current trend in alternative to main stream fashion labels. Fruit Salad bridges the gap between the onslaught on vinyl toy designers emerging to the dramatically increasing fanatical sneaker collector population.
They produce a limited amount of sneakers, sometimes in batches as small as fifty shoes as a means of highlighting the artwork and personality of each shoe. They aim to not only produce neck breaking designs, but models that will hopefully gear their potential audience to collecting and hording their footwear like little pieces of art, sitting in their elaborate boxes, never to be worn.

K1X, a basketball lifestyle brand, is preparing to drop their freshest collection ever. Their Summer 2009 Collection was inspired by the NBA basketball legend World B. Free, who’s charismatic persona and flashy game shaped the face of the league and basketball in general, during the 70’s and 80’s.
K1X’s “World B. Free” collection is a tribute to the man who’s style and look paved the way for guys like Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant, features 3 footwear models (Chiefglider Lo / Meet the Parents / DCAC) as well various, tees, shorts, hoodys, a crewneck sweats and a jacket.

Last week, we posted the price list for the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Collection, as well as new pictures of the hightop & lowtop models, and now we’re able to present images of the cheapest model yet, the “Mr. Hudson” Boat Shoe.
This model of the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton collaboration clearly has the silhouette of a boat shoe and comes in two different colorways. One version has a pink suede upper, brown heel tabs, and a pink outer sole, plus some elegant gold LV hoops on tasseled laces. The second LV x Kanye sneaker features a 100% white leather upper, a white rubberize sole, and tasseled laces.
The “Mr. Hudson” Boat Shoe will release June 2009 along with the rest of the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton collection. Retail $840.

In the last few weeks/months we’ve posted sneakers made of fruit & meat, dog statues made of Nikes, and even some kicks made of Legos, but now it’s time to show off some shoes made of 100% cardboard.
Mike Leavitt will be unveiling a cool collection of cardboard sneakers at NYC’s Fuse Gallery that includes, Air Jordan 1s, Air Jordan 4s, Adidas Gazelles, Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars, Vans, and more. Each shoe was handcrafted using only cardboard, glue, and some acrylic paints.
If you live in the NYC area, then you can go see Leavitt’s artwork at the Fuse Gallery starting Saturday, March 21th, 2009.
