A couple months ago the “Heaven’s Gate” Nike SB Dunk High was left on the cutting room floor by the Nike SB design team. The Dunk caused a stir of mixed messages because the inspiration for the sneaker was based on a well-known religious cult.

But now it appears Nike SB will  release a similar model that should be dropping in the Summer of 2009.  This new Nike SB High features a purple, black, obsidian, and white colorway, and uses a combination of both suede and leather on the upper.  The only real difference with the “Unheaven’s Gate” version is the use of  a brighter shade of purple and no traces of aqua coloring.

Nike SB is known for coming with some crazy designs inspired by notable people, places, and things, which brings us to this new Nike SB Dunk Low Premium that seems to draw it’s inspiration from our microscopic friend, the ant. The upper contains a black leather upper, sections of teal suede, and hints of red. This color scheme & concept reminds be of a certain Marvel comic book character who consequently shares the same colors and insect status…Ant-Man. The Nike SB Dunk Low Premium [Ants] should be dropping in January 2009.

Television has revolutionized the way we view and interpret the world around us, from it’s creation in the early 30’s to the consistently evolving high-tech models of today. Because of their mass impact in our everyday lives Nike is releasing this TV-inspired SB Dunk Mid Premium. Based on the black / white tv sets of the past, this sneaker features a black/grey/light green colorway on a suede and leather upper. While the insoles present an interesting combo of colorful pixels that represents the way current televisions transmit high quality colored images. Jordan8420 (Chinese Site) has a few in stock but the official release for the U.S will happen in early 2009.
