In honor of LeBron James’ Gold Medal with Team USA, Nike is planning to introduce this Nike Zoom LeBron VI (6) “Gold Medal” sneaker to celebrate the accomplishment. The sneaker features similar details to the “United We Rise” Nike Zoom LeBron VI PE, which also includes a white, red, and blue colorway, the words “Witness Gold” embroidered in metallic gold on the foot strap, and LeBron’s signature in metallic gold along the ankle. There’s only #114 pair set to release and each of them are numbered on the back heel.

“The 10th Annual Jim Calhoun Charity All-Star Basketball Game was held in the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, August 9. Former and current UConn players such as Travis Knight, Ray Allen, Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, Rip Hamilton, Caron Butler, Kevin Ollie, Donyell Marshall, Khalid El-Amin, Doron Sheffer, Ricky Moore, Charlie Villanueva, and Rudy Gay took part in the game. Basketball Hall of Famer, Jim Calhoun began this fundraiser to benefit the UConn Foundation, Inc.’s Jim and Pat Calhoun Cardiology Research Endowment Fund for the UConn Health Center.”
During this event Ray Allen aka Sugar Ray of the Boston Celtics was spotted wearing a pair of Air Jordan XX3 (23) PE sneakers that Jordan Brand customized just for him. The PE (Player Exclusive) features a Boston Celtics inspired green and white colorway, the words “Sugar Ray” embroidered along the ankle, and MJ’s signature around the toe. Here’s a pair of extremely rare Air Jordan XX3 (23) PE sneakers that were made specifically for Carmelo Anthony during the 2008 All-Star Game in New Orleans. Only two pairs were ever made, the one that Carmelo wore during the All-Star Game and this pair which was made as an alternate pair in case some happened to the original set. The upper features the standard Western Conference colors of dark maroon and white with gold accents. This sneaker is currently up for auction on eBay, and last time I checked the bidding was up to $3,400.
Nike Air Penny II (2) Retro

The Nike Air Penny II (2) will finally make it’s comeback Saturday, Sept. 27th after waiting over 10 yrs in the shadows for this day to come. The sneaker will drop in two different colorways, a black/varsity royal-white and OG colorway (white/varsity royal-black) that Penny Hardaway wore during the 1997 NBA All-Star Game. Both sneakers feature the Nike Air Technology in the heels and forefoot, the Penny logo on the back heel and tongue, and the Nike swoosh along the ankle. The sneakers will be available at Footlocker stores everywhere, for a retail price of $140.

Nike Zoom Lebron Ambassador

Lebron James has been buzzing all over the place lately with his Nike Zoom Lebron VI (6), but here’s another one of his sneakers that’s also causing a stir, the Nike Zoom Lebron Ambassador. Lebron was first seen wearing the navy/red/white colorway during the Beijing Olympics but there’s also going to be a black/white, red/white, and black/black version. All four colorways feature the Zoom Air Technology, quilted side panels, and a mesh tongue, and of course Lebron’s trademark emblem placed beside the heel. Nike is giving Scottie Pippen a nice return to the sneaker game with this upcoming Air Flight Lite Hi. The sneaker will showcase the ever popular Chicago Bulls colorway of red, black, and white and should drop in stores Nov. 2009. Its been over 10 years since this Scottie Pippen signature shoe first released but with Nike releasing countless throwbacks lately this one shouldn’t really come as a shock.
