The 2008 Nike “Armed Forces Day” Air Force 1 (One) is beginning to surface at a few select online stores. Back in May we first presented this Armed Forced Day AF1 but at that time it was only a Military only release. The sneaker features a mico-perf leather on the back heel and along the lace holes, and regular leather on the reminder of the upper. The AF1 also consists of a Red, White, and Obsidian colorway and topped off with a pair of blue laces. Expected to see this sneaker in select Nike stores like Limited Edt. This is the latest Nike Air Force One 1World sneaker which was designed with the help of Japan native, Boston Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka.  The sneaker features the combination of Pony Hair and Reptile-esque leather throughout the upper with an orange and white colorway.  Matsuzaka’s number, 18, is also placed on the heel in the form of a dragon. Matsuzaka says he used the Pony Hair and Reptile like material to give the sneaker the appearance of a dragon which is a key element in the Japanese culture. Don’t except to see this sneaker releasing in Nike stores in the U.S. because this will be a Japan only release.

In honor of the 2008 Beijing Olympics closing ceremonies, Nike is releasing this detailed “Closing Ceremony” Olympic Air Force One to commemorate the occasion. The sneaker sports a flashy metallic gold color scheme with detailed laser engravings around the toe, lace holes and back heel. These no real info on a release date for the U.S., but many are saying that they might be a China exclusive release. Retail price $888…in honor of the start of the Olympics, 08/08/08.
