Months before the release of Jay-Z’s eleventh studio album, the Blueprint III, the hip hip guru started a “All Black Everything” campaign after using the line, “I might wear black for a year straight“, in the the conversational hit, D.O.A. Everywhere Hov went he was seen only in Black clothing, sneakers, and even cars. He restated the trend in his next single “Run This Town” with the lines, “All black everything / Black cards, black cars / All black everything “. So after other rappers like Young Jeezy, Kanye West, and Fabolous began to follow the trend till the end of 2009 as well as as some of this faithful fans.
Mr. Carter is continuing this trend with a collection of five “All Black Everything” Nike Air Force 1 designs for the World Basketball Festival, which will represent each of the five countries participating. Nike plans to donate two pairs of each of the five models to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation who in turn have linked up with eBay for a charity auction that begins on August 12th at 9:00 a.m. EDT and ends on August 22, at 9:00 a.m. EDT. The first pair, pictured after the jump, features a special “HOV” branding on the tongue tags and insoles, and an assortment of premium prints and materials throughout the frame.
